Scientometrics

Scientometrics is a field of knowledge that investigates the characteristics of scientific information and studies, evaluates and compares the scientific products of countries, organizations and individuals based on valid international data. In scientology, statistical methods are used to determine the growth and development criteria of science and its effects in different human societies. In general, scientometrics can be considered the knowledge of calculation and analysis of science. The conducted studies show the significant growth of Irans scientific productions in recent years, especially in the field of medical sciences. Scientometrics is one of the most common methods of evaluating scientific activities, which uses statistics and techniques to evaluate science and technology, and consists of:

1. Evaluation indicators of the universities research position.

2. University research quality evaluation indicators.

3. Evaluation indicators of the universities scientific productivity.

4. Evaluation indicators of the  universities success rate in achieving its educational-research goals.

5. Indicators for identifying the state of scientific progress of the  universities in different subject areas.

6. Indicators for identifying the most effective faculty member and researcher in the  universities in different subject areas.

The Department of Scientology of the University is under the supervision of the management of information, medical scientology and scientific resources, through the continuous review and evaluation of the scientific productions of the university, research centers and other subordinate units and designing the necessary interventions in line with the policy of quantitative and qualitative improvement of scientific productions. The scientific position of the university and the country will take a step.
